Paper spider is a Chrome extension that finds a passage in a PDF and shows an animated spider walking to it. This page explains what data the extension handles.
If you add an Anthropic API key, the extension saves it in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer. It is not synced, and it is never sent to the developer. Press Forget key in the extension, or remove the extension, to delete it.
When you press Find it or Find more and you have added a key, the extension sends these items directly from your browser to Anthropic (api.anthropic.com):
Anthropic handles this data under its own terms and privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Without a key, nothing is sent anywhere. Searches then run only inside your browser.
To show a PDF in the viewer, the extension downloads it again from the address already open in your tab. That request goes only to the site that hosts the PDF.
